First BiH Youth Leadership Program ReunionSep 2007The Public Affairs Section at the U.S. Embassy Sarajevo organized the first Youth Leadership Program (YLP) alumni reunion in Mostar.  Over 50 alumni, who participated in this ECA-funded program between 2003 and 2007, traveled to Mostar from all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.  They actively participated in workshops to enhance their leadership and community development skills and were clearly excited to share ideas with other alumni about how they could make a difference in their communities and their country.Cultural Affairs AssistantUS Embassy?
Alumni GatheringOct 2007Alumni of six different U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs together with Cultural Affairs Officer Kim Murphy, Cultural Affairs Assistant Goranka Hennegar and Alumni Coordinator Jason Haserodt gathered at the U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo to brain storm new ways to engage alumni in BiH. Alumni present included BUDP alumna Luljeta Koshi, who is also the President of the Bosnian American Academic Exchange association (BAAE), and Professor Avdispahic, President of the Bosnian Fulbright Alumni Association. Fulbright, Ron Brown, Hubert Humphrey, JFDP and IVLP alumni all expressed a desire to form a closer network to implement the ideas and projects of alumni to contribute to the betterment of BiH. After a lively discussion of ideas and possibilities the alumni present agreed to meet in the near future to form an alumni board of representatives of all U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs for the purpose of establishing a formal plan and timeline for creating an all inclusive network of alumni in BiH.Cultural Affairs Assistant Goranka HennegarUS Embassy?
Job Search and Career Skills Development Guidebook for Senior StudentsFeb – Sept 2007Project involved preparation, printing and distribution of a guidebook that aims to educate and inform young students graduates on how to search and apply for a job and in this way to develop their career skills.
