US Alumni Association in Bosnia and Herzegovina (former Bosnian American Academic Exchange Association (BAAE) was established in 2004 and, since then, BiH alumni of US-sponsored academic and exchange programs have been implementing various alumni activities and projects.

The mission of the US Alumni Association in BiH is to advocate for positive changes in the BiH society and actively work on fostering those changes through implementation of projects related to democratic and economic development, adoption of new technologies and innovation, promotion of education and science, in order to achieve peace and prosperity in BiH.

Special goals of the US Alumni Association in BiH are to transfer knowledge and skills acquired in the U.S. to fellow students, professors, and community in general in BiH. The US Alumni Association in BiH has 350 members and reaches to several thousand alumni across BiH and the world. Alumni come from various backgrounds and oftentimes are leaders in their field and communities; many of them are university professors, teaching assistants and students.

US Alumni Association in BiH’s sources of funding have come primarily from the US Embassy in BiH and the US State Department, but also the organization is currently a partner organization in the implementation of an EU funded project and also received funding from the World Bank Institute for the implementation of a local self-governance project in Banja Luka and Sarajevo.

The elected president of the Alumni Association is Aleksandra Popović.

Elected members of the Executive Board are: Marijana Kapović Solomun (the president), Aida Salketić, Jasenka Orman Komljenović, Siniša Simić i Haris Hasić.
